James’ Story with Homelessness

You know some people just sit around and complain about how their life is and how the world is treating them. Now listen what I’m about to say is very important in fact it is vital to your very existence. It is up to you to change your own circumstances. You have to rise above it and you can and will succeed. It’s all up to you. Change begins with you.

Being homeless is like riding the roller coaster at an amusement park. Full of ups and downs. Never knowing where you might find shelter. Or what the next meal will be. With little or no money to your name. Combined with never knowing who you can trust.

People need to realize that pain changes people. It makes them trust less, overthink more and shut people out, in order to avoid it…

Also keep in mind that there are four very important words in life: Love, honesty, truth and respect. Without these in your life, you have nothing.

Everything in life is a Reflection of a choice you or I have made. So if you want a different result make a different choice. But don’t expect to see a different result if you don’t make a different choice. Bottom line the choice is up to you!

I was left homeless due to circumstances beyond my control. I made a bad choice in selecting what I thought was a good life partner for me. My bad. But I now have a home and have broken my cycle of homelessness.

How you and I treat people as they are on their life journey depends on their experience. We must be open to sharing our experiences with each other as we look for daily improvements.

Keeping in mind people are at different parts in life’s journey. Something every person should do is encourage and challenge each other in our Faith.

In the Bible (romans 8:38-39)Paul writes, For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – (NIV)

The same Lord is Lord of all, and gives richly to all who call Him,for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I am ever thankful for how God has used me, my talents and relationships to help others and how he continues to do so.

You may not see it now but stay in faith because victory is on the way. It’s just a matter of time. Don’t settle where you are. Rise up in strength today and declare “I will accomplish my dreams, I can overcome any obstacles. GOD has equipped me and empowered me to live in victory in all ereas of my life!”

Looking back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being redirected to something better.

Even though there were days I wish I could change some things that happened in my homeless past, that I would have changed, I now understand there’s a reason the rearview mirror so small and the windshield is so big, where are you’re heading is much more important then what you’ve left behind.

Forget what’s gone, appreciate what still remains, and look forward to what’s coming next. Say goodbye to the past. Because it’s time to move on. It’s time to be happy. Amazing things are on the way.

Don’t give up…GREAT things take time.

You can’t go back and change, the beginning of your homeless journey, but you can start where you are and change the ending. However, don’t expect to see a change if you don’t make one.

When I talk with a lot of the homeless citizens on the streets of Denton, Texas I discoverd they are focusing on things that they cannot control. For example, one specific homeless organization helping them. My suggestion is to focus on what you can create out of that experience.

You can always learn something new by listening to or reading about those who want to truly help the homeless population in any state or community.

Just breathe. You are Strong enough to handle your challenges, wise enough to find a solution to your problems, and capable enough to do whatever needs to be done.

Everything will work out in the end. You don’t need to know how. you just need to trust God and know that it will.

Being a Christian demands constant progression. Not perfection.

Life is like a camera just focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out take another shot. You can’t succeed unless you try.

Do not let homelessness be a permanent solution to a temporary problem. God can bring the greatest of blessings from the worst of circumstances.
